Preparing for the Perfect Flatlay

To ensure you don’t need to worry about a thing on the day, or have me ask where ‘XY and Z’ are whilst your glam squad are getting you ready, it’s important to have thought about your detail shot in advance. I recommend all my brides gather items the night before and ensure a member of the bridal party (usually the Maid of Honour) knows where everything is and can pass it to me during bridal prep. You need to think about:

• You Wedding Invitation: Select an uncreased and pristine copy of your invitation. Most couples consider having an extra one solely for the purpose of the photo.
• Accessories: Gather a selection of accessories that complement your wedding theme, such as rings, earrings, necklace, floral elements, ribbons, and sentimental items.

Natural lighting is key to achieving a soft and flattering ambiance for your photo, it would be amazing if we can find a location at the bridal prep address with ample natural light, preferably near a window. If you can think of this spot ahead of time and ensure it’s fairly clear on the day it will make my job 10x easier. However, I know there are a million and one things to prep for on your wedding day so if I need to get creative on arrival I’m very well equipt to.
