Jess and Zack’s wedding at Lains Barn was one of those days that felt full of warmth from the very beginning. Both of them had relaxed mornings at home surrounded by friends and family. There was no rush, just calm excitement and happy chatter filling the rooms.
Jess got ready at her family home with her bridesmaids. There was laughter, music playing softly in the background and the lovely hum of people helping each other with hair and dresses. The atmosphere felt cosy and real.
Zack’s morning had the same calm feeling. He got ready at home too, sharing a few quiet drinks and jokes with his closest friends. All of my full day photography packages include a second photographer so both mornings can be captured, especially if they’re happening at different locations. This means each wedding gallery tells the full story of the day. These moments are often simple but they set the tone for everything that follows.
Jess and Zack chose a small village church in Blewbury for their ceremony. The church was full of character and light streamed softly through the old windows. It felt personal and peaceful as everyone settled into their seats.
When Jess walked down the aisle, you could see the emotion in both their faces. The ceremony was full of smiles and a few happy tears. Afterward, guests gathered outside with handfuls of confetti ready.
The drive to Lains Barn took us through the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. It is such a stunning venue, full of rustic charm and warmth. The barn has lovely wooden beams, soft lighting and big doors that open out onto the courtyard. The team at Lains Barn are always welcoming and the space feels easy and natural for everyone to enjoy.
As guests arrived they were greeted with drinks on the lawn. The courtyard looked perfect with its open space and gentle glow from the string lights. Inside the barn, tables were laid with simple flowers and candles which made the whole place feel romantic but relaxed.
Lains Barn really is one of those venues that has everything you need. The layout flows beautifully from one area to another and there is plenty of space for people to mingle, eat and dance. The staff make sure everything runs smoothly so the couple can focus on enjoying the day.
Before dinner we slipped away for a short walk around the grounds of Lains Barn. The evening light was soft and golden, the kind of light that makes everything glow. Jess and Zack were completely at ease and it was lovely to see them take a quiet moment together.
We wandered through the courtyard and along the edges of the fields that surround the barn. I stepped back and let them chat and laugh together while I captured the small, natural moments between them. Those few minutes gave us some of my favourite photos from the day.
Dinner was filled with laughter and a few emotional speeches that had everyone smiling and tearing up in equal measure. I love capturing those moments when people forget the camera is there. The smiles, the glances, the little hand squeezes across the table.
As the evening began the barn was full of light and live music from a family friend’s band. Jess and Zack shared their first dance surrounded by cheering friends. Soon everyone joined in and the dance floor came alive. And the evening ended with Jess’ Dad performing with the band as a surprise which brought joy and tears to everyone.
Photographing Jess and Zack’s wedding was an absolute pleasure. It had everything that makes a wedding day special. Beautiful people, great energy and a stunning setting at Lains Barn.
